The objective is to enhance trade support capacities in MCs as sources for sustainable national trade development that can also be used to strengthen private/public sectors competiveness in international markets.
Capacity building activities not only help to improve human and institutional capacities in MCs but also enhance communication and cooperation among concerned institutions.
ITFC through TCPP enhances the establishment of trade training centers in MCs. The training centers network and cooperate with ITFC to cover the training needs of Asia/CIS, Africa and Arab MCs.
The following is some examples of TCPP capacity building activities implemented in 1429H.
|Activity||Training course on Export Strategies and Int’l Marketing for Arabic Speaking MCs.|
|Venue Date||Cairo, Egypt in collaboration with Foreign Trade Training Center (FTTC) from 4-8 May 2008|
|Objective||The training course covered international business development, export marketing, international trade regulations and standards, custom issues. In addition, the course aimed at preparing a new generation of professionals to be qualified as export marketing specialists, building their capacity in the export field, providing them with the latest knowledge in marketing research, trade information and emphasizing the role of international agreements.|
|Participants||Exporting SMEs from Kuwait, Syria and U.A.E. nominated by their respective Trade Promotion Organizations (TPO's) and co-organized by the Foreign Trade Training Center (FTTC)|
|Importance||Supporting and increasing member countries export competitiveness through improving their human resources capacity, which in turn helps further in trade development.|
|Activity||On-Job Training for Officials of Chambers of Commerce of French Speaking MCs|
|Venue Date||Casablanca, Morocco 20-24 Oct 2008|
|Objective||The training covers the departments that are directly related to trade, foreign relations, Exhibitions, SMEs and trade information. Furthermore, the training aims at familiarizing the trainees with the active and important role of the TPOs, their set-up, activities, relations with international, regional and national entities to improve their performance and skills.
The training was conducted at the premises of the Moroccan Export Promotion Center for a total of 7 trainees (one trainee from each of the 7 invited countries) which were TPOs from Senegal, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, Cameron Cote d'Ivoire and Benin.
|Importance||On job training programs provide excellent platforms for the trainees to upgrade managerial skills expand and update their knowledge on international trade environment and latest developments in international trade regulations.
It is also an excellent tool to familiarize trainees with services and products offered by trade related regional and international organizations, share and exchange knowledge and experiences from best practice examples and increase interactions and establish networking relations among them.
