Ahmad Jafar Sabbagh

Ahmad J. Sabbagh was one of the founders of itfc during its establishment in 2007 as a separate entity and member of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). He has 15 years of professional experience. He currently leads four functions in itfc – human resources, digital & operational excellence, corporate services, and corporate communications – by providing directions and ensuring overall management, coordination and evaluation of their functions, while closely working with other executives in the organization to translate business strategy into human and corporate resources strategies and action plans.
Ahmad made major contributions to itfc where he led the development of its 5-year strategic plan; co-led the creation of its new brand and corporate identity; and established HR, IT, and corporate service functions.
Prior to joining itfc, Ahmad was Trade Finance & Project Finance Officer at the Islamic Development Bank where he was responsible for promoting and marketing financing products in a group of countries. He also evaluated prospective customers and reviewed their financial and business capabilities.
Ahmad started his career as a Cost Analyst & Acting Plant Accounting Manager at Modern Industries Company (Procter & Gamble) where he managed the financial aspect of Home Care Products (Tide, Arial, Fairy and Downy).
Ahmad earned his Bachelor of Production Engineering & Mechanical Systems Design from King AbdulAziz University, Jeddah, KSA and a Master in Engineering Manufacturing Management, with merit, from Coventry University, Coventry, UK. He was a Ph.D Researcher in Supply Chain Management, at Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK.
