Nasser Mohammed Al-Thekair
General Manager, Trade & Business Development Department
Nasser M. Al-Thekair is the General Manager of the Trade & Business Development Department, responsible for leading the its Policy & Partnership, the Trade Development, and the Business Development & Decentralization functions in order to provide an integrated and comprehensive support to ITFC and various stakeholders. In addition, he is also responsible for determining the strategy and providing input and expertise for enhancing the functioning and service quality of these functions by aligning functioning to market practice and conceptualizing systemic improvements and initiatives to drive operational effectiveness and efficiencies.
Previously, from March 2006 to December 2007, he was Section Head for Arabic Speaking Countries in the Trade Finance & Promotion Department (TFPD) in IDB and prior to that, from February 2002 to February 2006, he was Trade Finance Officer in the same department with responsibility of establishing and maintaining relationships with clients in order to develop sustainable business. He started his career with IDB in July 2000 as a Young Professional for exceptionally well qualified candidates who have superior academic achievements in areas related to IDB activities, having previously worked in financial and technical planning for Innovators Consulting Engineers and at IBM Saudi Arabia as Assistant Project Manager.
He obtained his MBA in 2009 at the University of Leicester School of Management, UK, and holds a B.Sc. in Electrical & Computer Engineering, majoring in Communication Engineering, which he obtained in 1999 at King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia.
