ITFC, IsDB and SNTL Organize a Workshop on Logistics Hub Development in Africa

ITFC, IsDB and SNTL in partnership with Ministry of Transport and Logistics of Morocco Organize a Workshop on Logistics Hub Development in Africa. Mr. Mohammed ABDELJALIL, Minister of Transport and Logistics of Kingdom of Morocco, chaired the opening ceremony of the International Workshop under the theme: "The development of logistics hubs in Africa", where Eng. Hani Salem Sonbol, Chief Executive Officer of the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC) and Mr. Hassan Oubaha, Director General of the National Company of Transport and Logistics (SNTL) also delivered opening remarks in the presence of  Ambassadors of participating African countries in Rabat, Morocco.

This workshop, which is part of the feasibility study on the establishment of logistics hubs in Africa, is being organized, under the auspices of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, by the National Society of Transport and Logistics (SNTL), the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC).  The 2-day workshop hosted by the Kingdom of Morocco will see the participation of 11 African countries, including Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Egypt, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, Equatorial Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Senegal, Togo. 

The workshop focused on logistics as a vehicle for economic integration and trade facilitation in Africa, as well as the exchange of African experiences in the field of logistics hub development. In addition, panel discussions will be an opportunity to highlight the findings of the study and to share them with the delegations of the countries concerned.

At the end of this event, SNTL organized a visit to the SNTL Logistics Center of Zenata-Mohammedia for participating delegations to enable the participants to inquire about the Moroccan model of logistics development.
